Organize yourselves; prepare every needful thing; and establish a house, even a house of prayer, a house of fasting, a house of faith, a house of learning, a house of glory, a house of order, a house of God;
After listening to General Conference in October, I had the impression that I should study this scripture and ponder how I could create a house of each type mentioned.
Then I remembered that revelation is sprinkled throughout a group. I felt that if I truly wanted to determine as well as build these houses, I needed the help of everyone living here.
This “House of God” study made a wonderful Family Home Evening lesson. My daughter took charge. She quickly explained what we were going to do. Each person got a pen (different colors of course) and then she set a timer. After three minutes, we passed the papers. This continued until we each had the opportunity to write on all seven papers. Then we hung them where everyone sees them daily.
Now we can look at the papers and set personal and family goals. I am glad we did this together!
